The Exchange, Manchester
The refurbishment and extension of an existing office building included the replacement of existing metal framed windows with new double-glazed aluminium windows. Double-glazed curtain walling was installed to the stair cores, lift lobbies and newly formed extension. Structurally bonded curtain walling was used to form a new two-storey height entrance feature incorporating automatic bi-parting sliding doors and a glass canopy. The lift shaft adjacent to the main entrance was glazed with obscure glass into perimeter channels and angles. Aluminium louvres were installed to clad the original plant room on the roof.
